The main purpose of CMRF is to operate exclusively for the benefit of, and to carry out the purposes of projects of San Diego State University Research Foundation relating to scientific research into the causes and treatment of human diseases, particularly disorders metabolism. This research effort and education is administered by the SDSU Research Foundation through a departmental grant. Dozens of students have benefitted from this support and collaboration with other scientific institutes, both nationally and internationally.

Arne N. Wick Predoctoral Research Fellowship
Established in 1992 to honor the work and dedication of Dr. Arne N. Wick, a former long time Board member of CMRF. This grant seeks to provide full support for an outstanding graduate student, nominated by the San Diego State University faculty, during the last year of their doctoral dissertation preparation.

Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute
CMRF has been contributing to research efforts consistently since 1983 and has maintained a relationship with the Whittier Institute (formerly known as the Whittier Institute for Diabetes and Endocrinology).

E. F. F. Copp Lecture Series
From 1971-1985, this lecture series helped to gather speakers representing a “who’s who” in the field of diabetes research from around the globe. See full list of lectures.
